Norma Allen - Thuy Nguyen

Norma Allen and Thuy Nguyen, two self-made designers out of Orlando, Fla., debuted their first signature line of couture creations, deemed “Modern Elegance,” during the 2009 Couture Fashion Week in New York. Their fashion house, Voccé Couture, presents high-end designs for today's generation of young sophisticates and those entreating the ultimate, individually designed style. Voccé represents elegance and a highly refined style that is still in tune with contemporary fashion. From exceptionally designed tops, to body-conscious dresses and well-constructed slacks and coats, this Voccé Couture collection is a trend-setting array of mix-and-match pieces ranging from chic sophisticate and opulent eveningwear to distinct, statement-making designs.

Viewing their collection, one would think that Norma and Thuy, like most couture fashion icons, have attended the world’s finest design schools. Quite the contrary similar to renowned fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Versace-Norma and Thuy worked their way into the center of the fashion arena.

Norma and Thuy got their start appearing at high-profile fashion shows in Florida.

These two forward thinking designers are on a mission to set the tone for the 21st century.

Norma Allen, who was born in San Pedro, Cal., has had a keen eye for fashion from an early age. She would purchase designer pieces with the money she earned working at her after-school job, making it a point to look stylish and unique in her designer threads even if she could buy less expensive pieces elsewhere. If she did not like a piece, Norma would alter it and modify the piece to fit her taste, just as she does today with Voccé.

Born in Vietnam, Thuy Nguyen is the daughter of a professional seamstress. As a child, Thuy would watch her mother sew and create items from scratch, which fascinated and inspired her to do the same. At age 13, Thuy created her first design by hand-sewing a shirt for a doll. With the completion of this small project, her desire to create her own clothing became stronger than ever before. Since then, Thuy has dedicated herself to designing and creating new clothing from a variety of fine fabrics and materials, her love for fashion fueling her desire to re-invent conventional styles and realize this life-long dream.

Together, Norma and Thuy are turning heads, crafting luxurious, but youthful-inspired, creations known as Voccé Couture.
